Manga Drawings by Chi

Let me introduce you to Chi from Hokkaido, Japan. I recommend her drawing gallery for every manga enthusiast who is learning or practicing manga. I like her drawing ideas and the simplicity she works out the drawings.

You’ll find very simple sketches like Kana Akiyama, that is worked out in pencil and colored version too. It is very interesting indeed.

It is OK to have a ready a completed drawing or painting displayed to watch and admire. BUT, and this is big but, if you can see the artist’s process how the drawing developed in each step or in some stages, that is priceless.

We learn best if we can see how the actual picture was made, how each step was drawn, etc.

That is why I create personal galleries of some selected visitors. Because there are many – so called, seemingly “unfinished” drawings or sketches that you may consider not worthy. The opposite is true however!

I am so grateful to all of you who are courageous and submit “seemingly unfinished” or “seemingly not perfect” drawings or sketches because those have the biggest value. Believe it or not those drawings and sketches are the best studying material for all of us. They show you the part of the drawing process.

Her RGBY idea for the same manga face is very interesting. Just watch!

One of the best thing with manga is that you can virtually imagine, create and give birth to completely new characters that did not exist before. You can play with the color of their hair or create red eyes like Mashiro Shiina.

You can create hybrid humanoids like Pachirisu with a long squirrel tail attached. In manga world everything goes, no limits to creativity. That is the beauty and fun.

You can learn really a lot from the sketch like Chihiro Tsukiko. Beside the body of the character is the study of her eyes, magnified. Those are priceless pieces of learning process. Thank you for these cool ideas :)

Yellow Amarillo del Verde holding Pikachu in her hands is also great idea for drawing. Yellow hair, yellow eyes, yellow dress and the yellow Pikachu. Isn’t it just a cool color coordination?! I also like the blue colored hair of Wendy Marvell with her pleasant smile on her face.

Fierce face of Mine from Akame Ga Kill is nicely colored in the same pink tone. Really cool fierce face expression combined with pink color.
