Simple imaginary art

This was done at the beginning of this month. I like traditional art because its clear that photography cannot destroy it. Its true that with the arrival of photography, some have introduced what is known as self-expressionism, thus, to be less or not at all naturalistic.

People in general will continue to appreciate an art which has a sense of skill and is naturalistic. For eg if one is doing a skillful plain air landscape art, then, people will be more attracted to it, rather than with taking photos of the landscape there.

People love traditional art. Even me, its only last year and while researching, that I came to know about self expressive art because of photography. But never before that or after that, I felt that I must not do traditional art anymore and that we are compelled to be more expressive.
Photography is not an enemy of traditional art. But its some people who pretend so. So its good to share our opinions because it can clarify lot of things. No one is the proprietor of art in the sense of commanding others to stop doing traditional art and be just self expressive.

I think people must do what they feel comfortable with. If one love surrealism then he can do it, but cannot impose others to do same. In the same way if am mostly a ballpoint pen artist, I have no right to force others to adopt this medium.

Agree, that's exactly as you say Shehbaaz. If we have this sophisticated camera gadgets and recording technology, why are people still attracted to hand made stuff like drawings, paintings, etc. Because hand made stuff has a spirit and the artist imprint is there and the human warmth is there. As Picasso once said: "art yet must be invented".
